Avalon Amenities and Water Sports: Avalon features a Captain & Chef, full air conditioning, plus 5 Queen cabins, each with en-suite bath. Her water sports include 15’ dinghy with 75 hp engine, adult water skis, knee-board, snorkel gear, tube, wake-board, kayak, floating mats, plus fishing gear.
Avalon Diving Package: Captain Paul & Chef Mel are both Dive Masters. They offer up to 7 dives per week for certified guests at a cost of $40 per diver per dive. Guests rent gear at a cost of $150 per diver per week.
Avalon Visit
We were aboard Avalon at the 2011 crewed charter yacht show in the BVI. We had met Paul & Mel in the past when they were aboard a slightly smaller catamaran. Once again, we were very impressed with their professionalism, yet easy-going nature. This brand new yacht was a definite stand-out at the show with her overall size, space and modern appoiintments. Compliment that with an experienced and wonderful crew and we knew we had a new top recommendation on our hands.

I cannot tell you how many times I think of you two and wonder ........how did they do everything they did??!!! Our children are back in school and all reports written about the summer (as teachers always make students do) are all about the big boat trip (which is rather discouraging considering how much effort I put into the other 10 weeks). You worked so hard, but made it look so effortless. You were constantly meeting our every need ....and thinking of TONS of fun pampering treats we never even imagined!
Paul, to you we say thank you for all the fun snorkeling and diving excursions, the tube and wake boarding, the exotic boat drinks, superb dinning service, entertaining stories, magical sunsets (yes, it did seem that you even arranged those) and sailing! Mel, to you we thank the 10 delicious pounds we gained, cooking lessons, clean cabins ( we still cannot figure out when you tidied up everything), great anchoring, and stories about England and Paul (oops, maybe we won't admit we know those!) It sounds as if Mel is getting less praise, but not so, her food counted for a lot ... it was truly fabulous!
You are a fantastic team that works together like a well oiled machine, or an old married couple....always making us feel like we were part of the family (and by the end of the too-short week we felt as if we were leaving family). Now is probably a good time to apologize for the overly emotional goodbye (I know how you Britt’s hate that mushy stuff) and you were probably right refusing our pleas to come home with us. We do still have that spare room...ahem.
Seriously, thank you for your outstanding service. We have the utmost respect and praise for the two of you. You are both tops in your field and we are very fortunate to have spent this time with you.
