Obsession Amenities and Water Sports: Obsession features a Captain, Chef, plus third crew member. She has full air conditioning throughout and her layout can accommodate up to 10 guests in 2 Queen cabins, 1 Queen cabin with additional upper/lower twins, plus a Twin cabin, all with en-suite bath. She additionally has a leather sofa in the main salon which has a full size pull-out bed. Water sports include an 18’ dinghy with 115 hp engine, adult water skis, knee-board, snorkel gear, tube, wake-board, 2 1-man kayaks, floating mats, fishing gear, 3 mountain bikes, plus stationary trainer.
Obsession Diving Package: The crew would be happy to arrange rendezvous diving for guests at an additional charge. Both Arno and Petra are experienced dive guides and while they don’t currently offer on-board scuba, they can certainly point you in the right direction regarding rendezvous companies and the best dive sites.
Our Visit And Lunch Aboard Obsession
We were aboard Obsession for a 3 hour lunch at the 2011 BVI crewed charter yacht show! It gave us a wonderful opportunity to catch up with Arno and Petra, who we’ve known since our chartering days in the islands. They are a wonderful people – extremely flexible and full of spirit and energy. While aboard, we had the opportunity for another full tour of this fabulous Motor Yacht. Again, we noted that since Arno and Petra have taken ownership of Obsession in recent years, she was looking fantastic, having undergone a major face-lift as well as continual upgrades. The on-board lunch consisted of a tasting menu with multiple courses and wine flights. The presentation, service and the meal itself were outstanding and consisted of the following delicious and beautifully presented courses:
- West Indian pumpkin soup with fresh ginger and an infusion of Mount Gay rum
- Jumbo shrimp served atop a seaweed salad with a balsamic glaze
- Fresh lemon and raspberry sorbet
- Fresh Mahi Mahi a la Milano, pan sautéed in butter and served with grape tomatoes, fresh lemon juice and sage
- Pernod marinated fresh strawberries served in a grated, green-peppercorn with bourbon vanilla ice-cream parfait
