Discover the San Blas Islands this summer - 7 nights, 365 islands and one charter yacht!

The very accessible yet rarely visited San Blas islands are located 50 miles east of the Panama canal on the Caribbean side of mainland Panama.  These unspoiled, palm-fringed islands boast white sand beaches, thatch and mud villages, and are home to friendly Kuna Indians who still manage to maintain an ancient way of life.  If your ideal tropical setting includes deserted islands, crystal clear waters, uncluttered ocean views, plus an intriguing culture, then here lies a unique opportunity and destination for your consideration.

With over 365 islands, the San Blas Islands offer at least one island for each day of the year.  However, what makes this charter opportunity extremely special lies in the fact that only one Caribbean based charter yacht, "Aloha Malolo" is headed there this summer.  The passage to the San Blas is long and difficult.  Therefore there has not been a charter yacht frequenting this destination for years.  Previous charter yacht owners and friends, Lars and Nancy Heinesen, took every opportunity to visit the San Blas years ago aboard their sailing yacht "Delphina".  They continually described their experience and the islands as "simply amazing!"  As this rare opportunity to explore the San Blas presents itself, even Joe and Lynne are considering their own charter aboard Aloha Malolo this summer.  Quite simply, they consider this a chance of a lifetime not to be missed.

The San Blas Islands were recently featured in the New York times travel section in an article entitled "Nearby Haven for Ancient Ways".  The article describes the San Blas Islands, otherwise known as the Kuna Yala Reserve, as a rare combination of tropical paradise and cultural paradise.  Clink on the link that follows for further information regarding the San Blas, including a map detailing their location plus useful information on getting there:  New York Times Article.

Introducing Eric & Evelin, the friendly and adventurous crew headed to the San Blas aboard "Aloha Malolo":

Captain Eric has been sailing since he fell in love with life on the ocean during his first 9 month trip to Panama from Los Angeles over thirty years ago.  In addition to his USCG Captains license, Eric is also a PADI Divemaster and has been ASA certified to teach Basic Sailing, Coastal Navigation, and to give Bareboat Certifications.  Eric has been sailing on Aloha Malolo for the last eight years, has sailed the San Blas Islands three times, and looks forward to sharing his adventurous spirit and wanderlust with his guests.  Eric's philosophy is that a vacation aboard Aloha Malolo should be an unforgettable experience ...where special requests, special destinations (hence, the San Blas Islands) and special vacations are his specialty!

Raised in the Caribbean, Chef Evelin grew up eagerly anticipating her Uncle's adventure stories upon his return home from charters in the San Blas.  She graduated with a degree in hotel administration with an emphasis on gourmet cooking. In addition, she had the opportunity to study with an accredited Cordon Bleu Chef with over 10 years of charter yacht experience.  Evelin is a fun-loving individual with a quick and warm smile.  She has the natural knack of making anyone aboard Aloha Malolo feel instantly welcome.  Evelin looks forward to sharing her home and a truly culinary experience with her guests.

Salty Dog completes the crew aboard Aloha Malolo and will be aboard for all San Blas charters.  Salty's normal duties include snorkeling and fishing supervision, dolphin spotting, as well as general relaxation.  In addition, this friendly lab is always happy to oblige with a game of frisbee.

Aloha Malolo and her unique & comfortable amenities:

Aloha Malolo is a custom built and very unique 65 foot sloop, combining sleek lines and high-performance.  Her sail plan combined with medium displacement provides an exhilarating, yet comfortable sail.  Aloha's flat bottom provides stability and her long keel assures your sails to have very little heel.  Captain Eric reminds us that "you don't need a cat to sail flat!"  In addition, Aloha's steel hull combined with a custom teak interior provide her guests with comforting surroundings as well as safety.

The interior of Aloha Malolo is open, spacious and full of warm character.  Simple, yet comfortable accommodations include three guest cabins with queen size berths.  All beds are a generous 6 1/2 feet long and most of the interior spaces have almost seven feet of head room.  There is one en suite guest bath with shower plus one additional guest bath with shower.  While the crew has their own head, it should be noted that they do share a shower with the guests.

Toys include:  14' dinghy with 50 hp engine, snorkel gear, knee board, water skis, tube, fishing gear, floating lounges and a hammock.  Entertainment amenities include flat screen TV/DVD, music library, DVD library, cockpit speakers, cockpit cooler, plus guidebooks.  For further information regarding the yacht, her crew, and her offerings, please visit her personal site at:  yachtaloha.com
