Reviews from our Carefree Clients

A multi-repeat client and family group that we booked aboard 77' Catamaran Tellstar for New Years 2020-2021 said:

Hello Lynne,

I wanted to take a moment to share our experience aboard the Tell Star.

In short, both the yacht and crew exceeded our expectations and previous experience aboard any other chartered catamaran experience. While our three previous experiences were very good, the Tell Star experience is a cut above. The professionalism, attention to detail, team dynamic and individual crew personalities made the trip over the top.

We call them the Tell “All Star” team.

The Yacht:

This yacht is absolutely gorgeous! The design/ layout and finishes are very high quality. The large and spacious salon, back deck and fly bridge made for great gathering places and gave 8 people plenty of room to spread out and be alone when needed. The rooms were very nice with high quality linens and beautiful bathrooms. The master suite was especially nice. It felt more like being in a hotel than on a yacht. Tell Star has a luxury feel that is unrivaled by yachts of this size.

The Crew:

Captain Jack

What a great leader and mentor for this crew! His warm nature coupled with a caring and positive attitude sets not only a great example for those he is leading, but also sets the perfect tone for a fun and enjoyable trip.

Captain Jack does not see himself as the boss and his crew as hirelings.  There were many times when I saw him setting the table, helping with the dishes, serving food, bussing the table and encouraging his crew in the galley when the day ran long.  He led by example. He was also great at making sure that the crew was knowledgeable and cross-trained.  Not only for the benefit of running the yacht, but for their own personal career growth and betterment.

Captain Jack is “young at heart” and enjoys sharing fun experiences with this crew and charter.  He is also a wealth of information and knowledge when it comes to sailing and the history and the geography of the mapped trip and locations. Everything rises and falls on leadership, and with Captain Jack at the helm, this crew’s trajectory is in good hands.

Sara

What a precious, smart, hardworking, and authentic person.  We weren’t able to interact with Sara as much as we would have liked because she spends most of the charter working feverishly in the galley to keep us all fed, but the time spent with her was very memorable. The prowess she showed in preparing meals was more than memorable!  While living in Dallas and traveling often, we experience great restaurants and cuisine. And we can attest that the level of expertise, creativity and variety of meals on board rivaled that of great restaurants where we’ve eaten.

We couldn’t believe that Sara began serving as an on- board chef just four years ago. After learning this and getting to know her more, it was apparent to us that Sara would most likely be good at anything she set her mind to. She is truly gifted and a special person.

Jake

We loved getting to know Jake and watching him in action! Jake is a fun-loving and sweet-natured person. He seems to be happy all of the time. He is pleasant and positive and always willing to help anyone at any time and in any way. He Is a great teammate and is wonderful with guests!

As first mate, Jake proved to be very knowledgeable of navigation, wind and weather, yacht specs and procedures, diving and sea life. He even prepared breakfast one morning as the crew embarked to rent jeeps for our land excursion. The waffles he made were a big hit at breakfast!

As Dive Master, he also led the charter on 4 dives, which was a big part of the trip for many. He made the diving experience enjoyable, adventurous and low stress for those who were new to diving.  When dives were a little more technical, he provided great instruction and a calm demeanor.  Jake brings a laid- back, confident ease to the yacht. Always calm, cool and collected.

Blake

We loved Blake! She is the “Hostess with the Mostest!” As guests, we had the most interaction with her than anyone aboard. She is a people-person who has a knack for great service and is perfectly suited for this role. Blake was there almost every moment and every step of the way. She was always very cheerful, poised, positive and polite. I know many nights she was probably very tired but still approached every moment with a smile and willingness to serve.

Blake also showed quite a penchant for making just about any drink we could suggest. Serving wine to guests is one thing; maintaining a flow of varietal mixed drinks and cocktails at a rapid- fire pace is quite another level all-together. And, when she wasn’t serving or making drinks, she was cleaning rooms, bathrooms, doing laundry, etc.

She was very attentive to our needs; always asking if we needed more drinks, how we were doing, if we had enough to eat, if we slept well, if we wanted to play games, etc..

Since this is our fourth crewed yacht experience, we know just how important the crew is; they have the ability to make or break your experience. We’re happy to say this crew made it. They are a well-oiled machine that truly enjoy their jobs and each other’s company. They have great chemistry and that is evident to guests. They collectively made our experience unforgettable. And, we will never forget them as individuals. They are all welcome in our home at any time. We’ve already invited them to stay with us in Dallas and to let us serve and treat them as they served and treated us!

The cuisine was a "10". Everything from scratch and very accommodating to everyone's diet. Very healthy as well. Jack and Jaimey were over the top as far as providing service and figuring out each stop. Overall a perfect 10 week. We even had dinner with them the evening we got off the charter. Thanks Lynne. Very professional service.

Lynne, Great trip. Jack and Jaimie were truly fabulous and I can't say enough good things about them. Both were incredibly personable and great with the kids. Jaimie's food was fantastic and the boat couldn't have been any better. While the devastation of the hurricanes is apparent, I don't think it affected our trip at all. The reefs and beaches were great and if anything the lack of crowds was a benefit. I would not hesitate to recommend the bvi to anyone that asked and give the boat and crew my highest recommendation.
