Reviews from our Carefree Clients

A family that we booked aboard Brad & Kristi's previous 50' catamaran in July, 2019 said:

Lynne,

As you know, this was a family vacation with all five of our kids, ranging from 17 to 8. We’ve been very blessed in terms of having some great vacations. In fact, just this past March, we had one of the best. We stayed in a private home in a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Cabo San Lucas. Where we had our own private infinity pool on the edge of the cliff along with a personal butler. In addition to this, we’ve stayed at some very nice all-inclusive resorts, cruised once, and enjoyed numerous beach vacations, from Cayman to Cabo and across the Caribbean to Broadway in NYC. We only tell you this as a frame of reference for what we are about to say below. It’s important to understand the types of experiences we’ve had as typically the first experience since as your fondest.

The best way to encapsulate our experience on the Genesis II with Brad and Kristi is like this: yesterday, the day we finally arrived back home, we spent a couple of hours looking for the next charter boat. We’ve told friends to get ready, and our kids have asked how soon we may be able to do it again. We were blown away. It exceeded our expectations. On every level.

Boat: The boat itself wasn’t too big and wasn’t too small. It served our family well. It was so refreshing to see everyone unplug, unwind, and come together to enjoy every moment. The vessel itself was so very well taken care of and very clean at all times. It came adequately equipped for food, fun and comfort.

Location: The locations were enhanced with arriving by boat. We honestly do not feel that there could be a better way to explore the Virgin Islands. We mapped out a plan that allowed a mix of relaxation and adventure. The plan hit these notes perfectly. Beautiful waters, amazing beaches, nice hikes and incredible views.

Food & Drink: The drinks were absolutely top-shelf and catered to everyone. The kids loved the smoothies and drinks of the day. The adult beverages could not be topped by any land stop we hit. In fact, the Soggy Dollar Bar’s Painkiller does not hold a candle to Kristi’s! The food was delicious each and every time. Kristi was very particular in considering everyone’s taste palate. This was a challenge for our group, as many of them have limited food likes, so it was impressive to see her turn out great dishes with limited options! Truly the food was on par with any fine dining establishment.

Crew: Our biggest concern with our next charter is now focused around crew. We realize now how important the right personalities, attention to detail, willingness to please all are. Brad and Kristi were amazing. We know they are moving boats and have put their new boat on our list, purely due to them. They were attentive, friendly, patient and wanted to make our experience as great as possible. They exuded a near perfect balance of professionalism and personality. It was as sad to depart from them as it was the Genesis itself. A few days before our charter was to conclude, our kids began asking if they can make sure to get a picture with them. They taught our kids new games such as Dutch Blitz and Liars Dice. Dutch Blitz was purchased by us while on the boat and was on our porch when we arrived home and the first game was played last night with the new pack. Liars Dice was just purchased before we began typing this. It will be a sad day when Brad and Kristi step away from crewing, as they will be tough to replace.

Thank you for suggesting the Genesis II, this is an experience we will cherish for our lifetimes.

Hi Lynne,

We got back from our vacation and wanted to provide our feedback relating our recent charter of the Genesis and the crew, Brad and Kristi.

Brad and Kristi not only met our expectations, but exceeded them. They were both extremely personable, fun, caring, spontaneous, and their top priority (aside from safety) was ensuring we had a great time, which we did. The food was absolutely phenomenal (Brad and Kristi did a wonderful job customizing the meals according to individual preferences), the overall mood and dynamic on-board was fun and relaxed, and they were ready and willing to change the itinerary according to what we wanted to do. Brad and Kristi really went above and beyond to ensure we would have a memorable vacation!! They are a wonderful crew and would highly recommend them to all our friends, and definitely would book another charter with them.

The boat was great, Brad and Kristi really do a great job at maintaining the boat. It was always clean and from the moment we stepped on board, you could tell right away the boat was well cared for. It had ample space and the amenities were great. Even though the boat was in top condition, it was Brad and Kristi that really made the charter great.

Thanks for helping us make the selection for another great charter!

Best,

A multi-generational family that we booked aboard with Brad & Kristi on their previous 50' Catamaran in June, 2018 said:

Hi Lynne,

First of all it was absolutely fabulous. From the time we arrived ( early) we were welcomed with open arms. They took care of our bags and gave us some suggestions of places to walk to around the marina. Both Brad and Kristi were personable, welcoming and knowledgeable. After we walked around a bit they had finished their work and agreed to join us for dinner. We had a great time chatting about past sailing trips, hurricanes and family. They were delightful company and we had a great evening. The next morning they made us an amazing breakfast. Even though they really didn't need to. We waited for the rest of our group to arrive and talked about plans they had mapped out. They asked about various areas we had been to on previous trips. And we talked about the vision we had for the trip. We especially wanted Hailey (9) and Lucas (5) to have a great experience. Brad and Kristi did everything they could to envolve them. They taught them sailing, let Hailey drive the dinghy, and arranged for many child centered activities. They were both so accepting of children on their boat. Our daughter had planned many special anniversary surprises and they facilitated them all joining in the fun and making it even more special. Our granddaughter, Hailey was attached to both of them. She snorkeled with them, drove the dinghy, loved going on the towable. They knew where the best fish viewing was, let the kids feed leftover scraps to attract rays, baracuddas and other varieties of fish. Found great snorkeling spots and even let them help cook. One evening they had a play date with the kids while we went ashore for dinner. While the restaurant was lovely all of us commented that our food on board was far superior. The food was tailored to the children but gave them tastes of the adults meals to try. They made special entrees for one of our members who is dairy free. Each meal was a gourmet masterpiece featuring sauces and excellent presentation. Each day there was a signature cocktail. They were tasty, unique and even adapted to one persons nonalcoholic tastes. Each day were were welcomed with an agenda for the day. And a preview of the evenings cocktail. Lucas would watch horsdoerve making each day and come upstairs and announce what was being served. It was fabulous in presentation and hard to pass up. All food was natural, healthy and expertly cooked. I am not a huge fish eater but I devoured all my dinners due to the sauces and presentations. Meals included filet mignon covered with carnelized onions and sauce lobster. And Mahi mahi. Fresh herbs grown on board accompanied the food. They even baked a cake and made perfect risotto - not easy in a gourmet kitchen let alone at sea! We all loved the food and this group is a bunch of foodies who know their way around the kitchen

The catamaran was fabulous. It was decorated and fully stocked. They had lots of water toys and a huge floating lily pad for kids to burn off energy. The beds were comfortable and had storage. The bathrooms were for each cabin. The kids bathroom had a valve problem halfway thru the trip. They ordered the part but it didn't have time to come. The kids still could use the bathroom just went down the hall and used their parents sink for hand washing. Not a big deal.

The front trampoline equipped with four beanbags was perfect for watching the scenery during sails. Many options were given each day as far as activities ashore or water play from the boat. Both Brad and Kristi are great sailors and extremely capable of anchoring and getting anchor balls.

While both of them tried to stay in the background our family wouldn't let them. They were too much fun! Hailey adored snorkeling with Both of them. And they even helped us with a pinata one night ashore. All the while Kristi took photos of everything and as a parting gift gave us a Zip drive with tons of photos that we all were in! It was amazing and so personal.

I don't know if we plan to sail in the BVI again but if so wouldn't do it any other way! We will definitely be recommending this trip to everyone. Lynne, you managed to save this trip by securing Genises when our other boat was demolished in the hurricane. You handled everything and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. Everything was organized for us and it really made for a relaxing time.

Honestly, we all will treasure the memories of this trip. If I've left anything out don't hesitate to ask. Of course you can add us to the newsletter. And I hope I can forward those to interested friends

Thanks again. It was beyond our expectations...and our expectations were very high
