Chef Katie hails from the Chicago area with a passion for food, travel and an active lifestyle. Her infatuation with the culinary arts began while living in France, and has ballooned since. Love of food and travel led her to Paris, where she’s taken culinary, pastry and sommelier courses. Katie worked as a chef for charter yachts in the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and French Polynesia, but her favorite is the Virgin Islands. She is a registered yoga instructor and personal trainer and has taught both private and group classes since 2011. She enjoys creating unique flavorful dishes while using the freshest local ingredients possible.

Chef Joseph grew up on a small family farm in the Pacific Northwest. Before moving to the Caribbean, he received degrees in the Culinary Arts and Patisserie and Baking from Western Culinary Institute in Portland. In 2009, he packed his bags for the islands to buy and reside on his boat in the Virgin Islands. Proud to partner with the Virgin Island community, Joseph takes pride in buying local and these relationships with farmers and fisherman have elevated his status as having the freshest ingredients on board at all times. In addition to 3 years on a 50' catamaran, Joseph spent 5 years on a 120' Motor Yacht perfecting his trade.

Casey was born and raised in Florida and specialized in hospitality and event management at the University of Florida. She worked at a golf resort and in real estate before catching the travel bug. From there, she was a nomad, traveling the world experiencing new cultures and all things food! She is a foodie through and through and loves incorporating all different cuisines and focuses on cooking fresh and healthy dishes incorporating local delicacies with the freshest produce. She has been a yacht chef and hostess in the Med and Caribbean. In 2021 she attended Ashburton Culinary School in England to further hone her skills.

Katie’s love for yachting started in her early teens during family holidays sailing the Ionian in Greece. Her sailing career began as a hostess in Lefkada, then moving across to seek new challenges in the windy Saronic Gulf and Cyclades. From there she moved to the BVI, during her downtime between seasons she studied at Culinary school in Devon and on the Isle of Wight, developing and refining her love for cookery. Katie began cheffing professionally in 2016 in the Caribbean where she found a love for the culture and flavours of the area. Chef Sara Sara was born in Texas and lived her younger years in San Antonio. At 13 years old her parents decided to move onto their 41’morgan out island sailboat. She lived onboard invincible until she was 18. During those 5 years onboard, she traveled through the eastern and western Caribbean learning Spanish, surfing, sailing, and living a life on the ocean. Growing up on the ocean inspired her to pursue a career in maritime. She loves entertaining and sharing her knowledge of the water with her guests. With her sense of adventure, love of the water plus culinary skills, she aims to provide the absolute best entrees and hors d’oeuvres aboard Floatation Therapy.
