Holiday Charters Frequently Asked Questions
When to book a holiday charter? Quite simply, it's never too early to book a Christmas or New Years charter. Booking your charter at least one year in advance, if not further in advance, is often necessary to secure the yacht of your choice.
What about holiday surcharges? Many yachts add a standard 10% surcharge to their maximum guest rate for these popular holiday weeks. Other yachts charge an even higher flat rate.
Are there mandatory date ranges for Christmas & New Years charters? For the upcoming 2021/2022 holiday charters, Christmas charters would typically end on a Sunday (or earlier) and New Years charters would typically begin on Monday (or later) Most BVI and USVI based yachts and managers will mandate these time frames in order to maximize their holiday calendars. However, please do not hesitate to contact us for holiday charters outside of these typical date ranges. For charters that cover December 25 and 26 as well as December 31 and January 1, those charters must be 10 days minimum in length (by yacht approval only as well).
What is the minimum length of a holiday charter? Holiday charters must be a minimum of one week. Clients can charter for less than a week, but will have to pay for a full week's rate.
What about a holiday charter outside of the BVI? Charters outside the BVI are available during the holidays, but a large majority of the yachts do mandate a charter within the BVI due to this destination's popularity. Yachts with availability outside the BVI typically fall at higher price points.
